Grateful.......

So Ryan and I finally got to watch last Thursday's Grey's Anatomy Sunday night. If you haven't had a chance to watch it...DON'T! It was so incredibly sad and depressing. The world's cutest little girl dies in her daddy's arms dreaming about going to Mexico to see the beach. When Ryan came home from work yesterday we started talking about it again because we both thought it was so terrible. It made me think about all the things we have in our lives that we are grateful for....... For two healthy (okay, so they both have constant runny noses, Kai is working on tooth #6 for just THIS month, and on any given day one of them has a fever or bathroom issues--but mostly healthy!) babies that we enjoy so much.
For friends who find love (Congrats Korissa and Jack on your one year anniversary!) and for friends who love your children so much they want them to share in their day! This is Zo as a flower girl in their wedding last April. It was honestly the most beautiful wedding I have ever been to. Look at the background.....

For babies who smile constantly! And for all the new babies---Gina and Anthony had baby girl Camryn; Chay and Lisa had baby boy Evan. For the babies on the way--my baby sis and her husband Nick have a baby girl on the way. Okay, she isn't a baby anymore but she will always be my baby sister. :) Also, Tara (McClure) and Chad are expecting a baby boy this summer and Julie and Zach are expecting in November.

For airplanes! Without them we wouldn't be able to travel to Pennsylvania this summer for my sister's baby shower. My grandma is helping me take both babies with me so they can play with their cousins for a few days. We are so excited!

For becoming wiser as you grow older. Thursday I am having my tattoo cut off. Yes, it sounds just as terrible as I am afraid it is going to be. But, I think that this is karma kicking my you-know-what for ever having it done. You should have to be 50 before they even let you in the door to those places. I will suck it up and have it cut out because it isn't me, I'm embarrassed by it and Zo wants to know why I have a butterfly on my upper rear. :) (And because the "real" way to get them off is by lazer and only costs 7 THOUSAND dollars!)

Last, for our families. We were just talking about how lucky we are that our families are healthy and happy. Our niece, Rachel, has a very serious peanut allergy that no 2 year old should have to worry about but her parents are doing awesome adjusting and learning how to keep her safe. And my Grandma Barb's cancer was completely taken out last year. Thanks to the radiation she had, it has not returned so far. So we are blessed!

Easter Week

We had a fun filled Easter week. Ryan gives a free kids baseball camp every year and it was the Saturday before Easter so we just stayed in town. First we had dinner with our great friends, the Wigles, and just hung out. Mallory and Zo had fun and poor Julie felt yucky with her 2nd pregnancy. Then our friends, the Greens, who live across the street just had a new baby, Sofia, so Claire has been hanging out with us. This is one crazy night with the whole neighborhood!(Jenny Goodman, Ella Green, Claire Green and Zo) The Country Club had a brunch and egg hunt. It was a lot of fun and even the Easter Bunny was there! Zo's favorite was the dessert, of course! I wouldn't advise this for your children, she was totally wigged out on sugar shortly after she ate this!
Zo says this isn't the "real" Easter Bunny because he is busy so she decided this was his helper. She was still a little shy of him.

Since Ryan was at the camp all day I decided to take Zo to a local egg hunt at the park. She got all pretty but the hunt itself didn't go so well. They yell "GO" and hundreds of kids just take off. She got ZERO eggs and then was one of about ten kids who cried and went home empty handed. It was heartbreaking.

But, the next morning the Bunny made up for it when he visited our house and hid eggs for her in the living room. He also brought her something she has been wanting for months--a snuggie! You know, those blankies with arms that you see on the infomercials all the time. I know it sounds crazy but she and her uncle Chris think they are amazing!

So we had a fun week but we missed our family. We hope you had a great week too.

Kai-Almost 7 months

When is the last time you had this much fun just jumping around in a doorway?

"But Momma....I'm not going anywhere!"

Ryan's present

I forgot to post these bday pictures from Ryan's little party but they were too good to pass up. Zo surprised him (and me!) with a present she had wrapped herself with party streamers. She worked so hard on it but it was so hard not to laugh when he opened it.....it was a pair of pants from his dirty laundry!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!

HAPPY 36TH BIRTHDAY DADDY! Zoie insisted we celebrate with a party in the dining room. Sadly, it has only been used a few times and it seems like always for a party so she now thinks that is the sole purpose of the room. So we decorated with monkey plates, balloons, streamers and all of Daddy's favorite stuff--pizza, cashews, jelly beans, pizza, and of course, Yummy's cake! Zo got a huge kick out of the magic candles that kept re-lighting after she helped blow them out.

Polly Pockets

Okay, Grandma Mary, Zoie and I landed on a bunch of Polly Pockets at a garage sale this summer. Ever since then, it is Zo's favorite thing to do. Claire Green comes over from across the street and they will play for hours. Since the Kai-Man is about to crawl they have been confined to a plastic tub that is SUPPOSED to be under her bed when she isn't playing with them. You can guess how well that is going......

When Claire can't come over she suckers mom and dad into playing! You can't just dress them either. You have to talk in Polly voices and pretend to run around and ride horses and stuff. Don't even try to fold laundry or multi-task while playing, she demands your full attention. This Polly stuff is serious business!

Just to give you an idea how tiny the Polly stuff is--here is a picture of a Polly shoe on the TV remote. No joke...I have hundreds of these things around my house. The vacuum cleaner loves them! :)
